Recently, I was asked to give a workshop for Rural Women in Business in Alberta, Canada, about the many common mistakes small business owners make. Due to its huge success, I decided to make this workshop available via several media, so the much needed information would be available to as many people possible, help to prevent lots of headaches and overpaying in taxes and other avoidable expenses.

Talking and giving workshops about Taxes and Finances is one of the least sexy things you can do. As a matter of fact, many people have “tax or finance anxiety”. People feel so overwhelmed nowadays and try real hard to juggle budgeting and spending, paying bills and prioritize necessities. of Financial education/ knowledge is so bad nowadays, most ask for advise of friends and family, who often lack financial education too, but something worked for them, so we are all eager to get that advantage too. Often it doesn’t work out or even worse, a bigger set back is. Rich people get richer, because they consult specialists in everything they need. Poor people stay poor, as they cheap out of getting the right advise and guidance from professionals.

Based on my experience of 14 year as a tax specialist, I see more and more that many just check out; they no longer open their mail, do not file their taxes, out of fear of dealing with the reality of paying bills and taxes. They do get a panic attack. I have dealt with…
